If you saw my big announcement a couple of weeks ago, you’ll know that I’ve started a closet for my photography clients! This wardrobe is designed to save you time, money, and the stress of figuring out what to wear for your session. Keep reading to learn everything you’ll need to know about borrowing from the client closet.
A client closet, dress wardrobe, etc. is a carefully curated collection of dresses and other high-end wardrobe pieces and accessories for you to borrow for your session at no extra cost to you. I’ve spent months selecting gorgeous dresses in a range of all-inclusive sizes from brands like Needle & Thread, Rachel Pally, and Ivy City Co. that I know will make you feel absolutely stunning when you’re in front of the camera.
If you’ve ever planned a photography session before, you know that deciding what to wear is easily the most difficult part of getting ready. With a client closet, you won’t have to go shopping last minute, second guess if what you selected will look good on camera, or have a bunch of dresses to return that you didn’t end up wearing. All you have to do is pick your favorites and I’ll take care of everything else!

The clothing you choose to wear for your session has a huge impact on the final outcome of your images. Because my photography style is light and airy, the clothing I’ve chosen for my client closet reflects that style. Otherwise, it’s very easy for outfits to look distracting in the final edit. Instead, you want your wardrobe to feel cohesive so that your family’s connection is the thing that stands out most.
After we determine the location for your session, you’ll receive an email with general wardrobe planning tips. You’ll also have access to an online gallery of available garments in the client closet. Once you’ve had a chance to pick out your favorite pieces, you can schedule a virtual styling appointment with me where we can decide what the rest of your family will be wearing. I can even create a mood board or mockup of the outfits you choose so that you can see how everything looks together.
On the day of your session, I’ll arrive early with the dress you picked out, as well as the backup options you’ve selected in case you change your mind. I’ll also have pins and clips with me so we can get the fit just right. Afterward, you’ll just change back into your regular clothes and hand the dress back to me so I can do all the washing and cleaning myself!
No one likes to buy a dress they’ll only wear once. If you’re pregnant or just had a baby, it can be especially hard to find clothes that fit right. I love being able to take this stress off my client’s plate when planning their session.
If you’re interested in booking a portrait session with me, contact me here! After paying your session fee, you’ll get access to the client wardrobe, an extensive Session Guide, and my personal styling assistance for your entire family.
