You’d never know it was pouring rain when we began Deborah and Aenyl’s September maternity session. We had already rescheduled once due to bad weather but we didn’t let that stop us this time as we set up this sweet maternity picnic photoshoot to reveal the gender of their first child.

It’s a…GIRL! It was such an honor to document this important moment in Deb and Aenyl’s lives; as they dug into their cake to see what color icing was hidden inside, I held my breath with excitement too!
The rest of their September maternity session was all smiles as we captured the emotion and excitement Deb and Aenyl felt at the thought of welcoming a little girl this winter. Even Skylar, their pup, had a grin on his face as he joined in the celebration!
Deb chose to wear a beautiful ivory midi dress for her maternity portraits, with flowing sleeves and a smocked center. She added a brown felt hat for a little touch of boho, complimenting her husband’s brown sweater shirt. Creamy browns, beiges, and ivories are the perfect palette for an early September pregnancy photoshoot–so classic and timeless!

Thankfully, toward the end of their session, the sun finally peeked from behind the clouds and we were blessed with some beautiful golden light spilling over the trees and foliage.
