South Jersey is full of beautiful places to take family portraits. From flower gardens to sandy beaches, the sky’s the limit when it comes to the look you’re after. I’ve managed to narrow the list down based on the variety of backdrops, amenities offered, and privacy offered.
Photographs on the beach are always so dreamy. The way the light peeks over the grassy slopes and reflects off the water is hard to beat–there’s something so magical and carefree about running barefoot through the sand and splashing through the water!
This was such a special session for so many reasons. It was my third time working with the C family, and the cherry blossoms hold great personal significance to them. Fairmount Park in Philadelphia during peak cherry blossom bloom was the perfect setting to photograph the beautiful bond Daitza has with her two girls.

It was such a treat to see how much little Maggie has grown after I took her newborn portraits last winter. She’s such a calm, happy baby and was a joy to photograph as she soaked up all the love from her parents.

I’ve worked with the wonderful C family before during an extended family shoot and I was so excited to see them again on this gorgeous early spring day for another round of family photos. We met just in time to take pictures for little M’s second birthday. To celebrate, she wore a balloon dress with a pompom crown, carried a princess wand, and pushed around a vintage carriage that her older sister also had for her second birthday. It was the perfect princess shoot for this sweet birthday girl!
Valley Forge Park is such a good location for family photos. Not only is it a massive national park full of Revolutionary War history, but there are so many unique photo backdrops to discover!
