This unseasonably warm spring was the perfect excuse to head outside with Erin and Eric for the whimsical maternity photoshoot of their dreams. Bartram’s Garden was the perfect setting to create these enchanting maternity photos. It’s the nation’s oldest botanical garden and was overflowing with lush greenery and fragrant flowers.
The couple are expecting their first child, a little girl, in June. I’ve never seen two people more excited to have a baby–their happiness was infectious!

Bartram’s Garden Maternity Photo Inspiration
This session was designed to be reminiscent of an English country garden in full bloom. There were several moments throughout their shoot which reminded me of my favorite impressionist paintings–of women becoming fully immersed in the luscious rejuvenation of spring. This cycle of birth and renewal was the perfect metaphor for Erin’s spring maternity photoshoot at Bartram’s Garden.

I’m obsessed with the cottagecore maternity dresses we chose for Erin’s session. She was thankful I nudged her in the direction of puffier sleeves than she is used to; the cream linen dress looked perfect in our substitute English garden and the floral bouquet dress had just the right amount of femininity and delicacy for an evening stroll past the hand-quarried stone buildings.

“It was an absolute joy working with Courtney! She made an awkward bean like me feel like an absolute queen 🙂 She was so encouraging throughout the entire shoot and gave me just the right amount of direction/instruction with all the different poses. When we got the copies of all the photos, we were THRILLED! They turned out so great and I am so glad she helped us commemorate this special season of life.”
