For Jenn and Brett’s rose garden pregnancy announcement, we wanted to do something extra special. This sweet couple, who are very dear friends of mine, are expecting their first child, a boy, this October. I couldn’t be more excited for them; it was such an honor to capture this important milestone in their lives!
We thought we’d take advantage of this uncharacteristically beautiful June and head to what I’d seriously consider heaven on earth–a 4.5-acre garden filled to the brim with fragrant roses in bloom. Keep scrolling to see more from this perfect summer session!
Is there anything more beautiful than a summer garden full of roses? Jenn loves flowers, so it was only fitting she be surrounded by them for her first pregnancy announcement. There were so many beautiful colors to choose from, the only hard part of this session was deciding where to stand!
We chose a long-sleeve floral dress for her maternity session, to perfectly compliment the bursts of color surrounding her. I might have been tempted to choose a solid color, but I’m so glad we went with the floral pattern; it blends perfectly with the gardens with just the right pop of contrast!

In case you were wondering why we decided to prominently feature papaya for this maternity picnic photoshoot…it’s because these photos were taken at 22 weeks, when baby was the size of a papaya!
“My husband & I had a maternity shoot with Courtney, and it was such a perfect experience!! We felt comfortable and laughed the whole time. We both aren’t fans of getting our photos taken, but these took our breath away 🙂 I’m sooo so in awe of how Courtney captured our love for this baby!”
