Angela + Rangan | Philadelphia Engagement Photographer

Couple sitting on marble steps in old city philly by Philadelphia engagement photographer Courtney Landrum.

October 16, 2021

As a Philadelphia engagement photographer, I was so excited when Angela and Rangan suggested an early morning Old City Philadelphia theme for their engagement session! There’s something about the way the soft morning light hits the cobblestones and brick that makes me feel like I’m in another time and place.

Angela and Rangan met in 2017 on a trip to Atlantic City with friends. Even though Angela wasn’t sure she wanted to go on the trip, the two met and hit it off immediately. In January of 2020, Angela was pulled away from work to go on a scavenger hunt across Williamsburg, NY where their first date had taken place. Rangan left notes at each spot they visited on their first date, and proposed at the end! So freaking sweet!

Unfortunately, their wedding timeline was disrupted when Covid hit a few months later. Angela and Rangan decided to tie the knot two years later in January of 2022 in a cozy and intimate art gallery in Manayunk. I am so excited to photograph their wedding as my first for the new year!

Angela and Rangan are such a sweet, kind couple. I had so much fun running all over Old City with them for their fall engagement session. We started at the Merchant Exchange Building near the Museum of the American Revolution, but had to quickly move when the sun kept coming out from behind a cloud and hitting the building! I knew I wanted to get this specific shot of the building, so we walked all the way back after shooting at Elfreth’s Alley to ensure we nailed it. It was definitely worth it – it’s easily one of my new favorites.

Thank you Angela and Rangan for choosing me to document such a special time in your life. I am so excited for your wedding this winter and wish you both a lifetime of happiness! ♥️

BEHIND THE LENS

Hi, I'm  Courtney.

I believe the best photos happen when there's more playing than posing. More connection and less perfection. My sessions are easygoing, lightly guided, and filled with the moments you'll miss most someday.

Historic homes have a way of telling a story long before anything is ever hung on the walls. Collected details like original millwork, tall ceilings and worn hardwood floors give older homes their depth and character. When thoughtfully chosen, artwork can become part of that story rather than competing with it. Oversized family portraits are […]

Meaningful, Practical, and Experience-Based Ideas (Plus a Local South Jersey Option) If you’ve ever stared at a baby registry wondering what to buy, you’re not alone. Yes, diapers and bottle brushes are useful. But the most meaningful baby shower gifts are often the ones that aren’t on the registry. If you’re looking for baby shower […]

A thoughtfully designed gallery wall has a way of making a home feel layered, personal, and lived in. More than simply filling empty wall space, family photo gallery walls tell the story of a family over time—the seasons that mattered, the people you love most, and the moments you never want to forget. But while […]
