Fine Art Studio Maternity Session in Haddon Heights, NJ

Welcoming a new life into the world is a wondrous journey, and mothers deserve to feel beautiful and be celebrated. I recently had the privilege of capturing Gillian’s pregnancy in a fine art studio maternity session as she anticipates the arrival of her second child, a boy.

What to Wear for a Fine Art Studio Maternity Session

We wanted to do a few outfit changes during Gillian’s fine art maternity session, which is easily accomplished in the studio. Just one of the many benefits of working indoors. She was able to try on several options from the client closet, to find dresses she felt comfortable and beautiful in, without having to go shopping.

For her first look, Gillian wore a soft pink dress with a smocked top and long puffy sleeves. Smocked tops are a great option for maternity dresses and can accommodate a wide range of sizes throughout your pregnancy.

The second dress she chose from the client closet was one of my favorites, a super soft dress from Doen. This classic floral print was perfect for a spring maternity session!

Intimate Studio Maternity Portraits

After we had captured a variety of images in both dresses, we opted for something a bit more intimate to better show off her bump. Fine art studio maternity sessions are the perfect opportunity to don some pretty lingerie and celebrate the miraculous female body as it grows new life. A lace robe paired with a bra and panty set is a great way to highlight the bump without showing too much skin. I love the subtle texture of the lace against the hand-painted backdrop!
