Located in the heart of Wilmington, Nemours grants you the essence of a French estate without traveling far. Nemours Estate family photos are perfect if you’re looking to adorn your walls with elegant, timeless portraits of your loved ones.
History of Nemours Estate
Nemours Estate is a sweeping, 200-acre property in Wilmington, DE complete with formal French gardens and a 77-room mansion built by Alfred I. duPont, an American financier and philanthropist.
The grounds were modeled after the Petit Trianon at Versailles (where Marie Antoinette bid her time), and feature a one-acre reflection pool, several sculptures and statues, as well as a Temple of Love showcasing the goddess Diana.
Completed in 1910, the estate went through a substantial renovation in the early-2000’s, to the tune of $39 million. Today, the Nemours Foundation is also responsible for operating the large children’s hospital next door to the estate.

Parking: Free parking is available near the ticket entrance.

Ticketing: Tickets are required for entry. Individual adults are $20 and a special group rate for a family (2 adults and up to 4 children) is $40.
Bathrooms: Trailer restrooms can be found throughout the property.
